BIO

Writing and music has always been a hobby for me. When I started „The Great Battle” I barely imagined that I will publish a book in my life. I realized I had something valuable to share with the world and turned my efforts for a first try.

So here I am, on the way to the 6th one. It’s incredibly hard work, but I’m never happier than when I’m sitting down at my desk putting the opening words to a new book or story on paper, nor when I conduct an orchestra performance.

Bao Yuankai - Symphony Nr. 5 "The King YU", movement VII. Studiousness

European premiere of Symphony Nr. 5 "The King YU", composed by Bao Yuankai, played by National Symphony Orchestra of Public Broadcasting Institution "Teleradio-Moldova", Academic Choral Chapel "Doina" of Moldova National Philharmonic and Choir "Vocile Primaverii (Voices of Spring)". Soloists: Cristina Buciucci (soprano); Ana Raiu (mezzosoprano); Vadim Ceban (tenor); Sergiu Garabajii (baritone). conducted by Andrei ZAPȘA. About 4 thousand years ago, in the land of China, there was a disaster. Floods washed away fields, destroyed villages, and submerged hills. During that time, there were many tribes. Among them, there was a leader of the largest tribal union, named Yao. Yao assigned Gun to flood control. Gun’s method of flood control was to build dams to block the flood from their homes. Gun heard that there was a special piece of god soil in heaven. Using it to block a flood, the soil would grow higher as the waters climbed higher. So, he risked his life to steal the soil for the sake of humanity. After 9 years under Gun’s flood control, the flood still didn’t recede. Later Yao passed his crown to Shun. To punish Gun for his flood control failure, Shun exiled Gun to the Yu Mountains. With mixed feelings of regret and hatred, Gun ended his life by jumping into a deep abyss in the Yu Mountains. Shun let Gun’s son Yu take over his father’s unfinished work – flood control. Yu was a fearless man, capable of enduring all kinds of hardships, unafraid of any difficulties, and he took heavy duties as ordinary people. He was married in his 30s to a beautiful girl from the Tu Mountain tribe. A few days after the wedding, he said good bye to his bride and set off to continue flood control. Busy with controlling the flood, he didn’t drop by his own home, even when he passed his place 3 times. When his son was born, he couldn’t even spare time for a visit. Learning from the failure of his father, Yu decided to use a dredging method to lead the flood into the sea. He went to many places, studied the water flow, visited people, and carefully planned. Under his leadership, people dredged rivers, dug ditches, and introduced water from the fields into the water ditches. Through the rivers, the flood water eventually flawed into the sea. After 13 years of hard work, the flood had finally receded. Because of the great cause of this flood control, the people in the land of China came together as a whole, as one nation. Because people supported and loved Yu so much, Shun passed the crown to Yu. After Yu’s death, his son took the crown, and established the first dynasty in Chinese history – Xia Dynasty. From then on, China's land and people were referred to as "Hua Xia”, or Chinese Xia.
